About the Artist: As a first generation American growing up in the creatively rich County of Bucks in Pennsylvania, opportunities to participate actively in local traditions enhanced Mia’s desired feeling for “connectedness”. The production methods, which at times felt entirely anachronistic, also prompted thoughts about the origin of the traditions exemplified and the societal, economic, and environmental forces that shaped them. Hence the anachronism served a purpose.
